"We don't realize that, somewhere within us all, there does exist a supreme self who is eternally at peace." ~Elizabeth Gilbert

I suspect Elizabeth Gilbert realized something that is probably common awareness at best, and common knowledge at least. And to a lesser degree, she speaks newly to those who may not know the truth of an eternally peaceful self; there is such a thing.
With certainty, I have known the existence of a supreme self within. Though conscious of [a] deeply rooted "supreme" peaceful self is a consequence of repeated refusals to embrace it, I am fortunate to realize [my] oneness with all there is, through the spiritual prism(s) of 'self', at peace from within, and radiating outwardly.
Even upon hearing words of "doom", deep seated peace is an eternal power that will always confirm truth as opposed to illusions of fearful threats to survival, should one allow such inferiority to have a voice which dominates one's internal dialogue.
To ensure constant connectivity to one's greater eternal power of [the] supreme eternal self, it is often necessary to go somewhere and be quiet. Tune out and turn off the habitual noise, think absolutely nothing and just be 'no-thing'...an original state of awareness, being and eternal power.
Keep shining!
